Description

This fine and impressive antique thistle brooch has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold and 9 ct rose gold.

The circular 9 ct rose gold frame displays an applied, three dimensional feature 9 ct yellow gold representation of a thistle to the centre of the design.

The head of the thistle is ornamented with a fancy cut quartz.

The outer border of the brooch is accented with six hardstone (chalcedony) panels displayed alternately between chased decorated leaf motifs.

This impressive example of Scottish 'pebble jewellery' secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp and benefits from the additional security of a fine link chain and safety clip.

This Victorian brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold.

Condition

This antique 1890's thistle brooch is fine quality set with hardstone panels.

The brooch is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique jewellery/estate jewelry.
