Description


This exceptional antique Scottish quaich /bowl has a plain circular rounded form.


The well of the horn body retains the original 9ct yellow gold circular panel ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'SGAUB, ASI' .


The two handles are ornamented with navette shaped gold panels, embellished with an engraved cross with a nimbus to one side and a Scottish thistle to the other.


This impressive antique quaich has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold.

This antique Scottish quaich is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The horn is in perfect condition.

The engraved ornamentation is very crisp.

There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this Scottish antiquity.
