Description


This magnificent antique Edwardian Scottish sterling silver inkwell has an ovoid shaped form.


The surface of the inkwell is embellished with impressive bright cut engraved trefoil knot and thistle leaf decoration amidst panels of chalcedony.


This antique inkwell is fitted with a domed hinged cover encircled with further bright cut engraved trefoil knots in addition to bordered lozenge prism shaped alternating chalcedony hardstones.


This impressive cover is surmounted with a band of applied rope twist decoration to a claw set 13.50ct* citrine.


The cover opens to reveal the removable glass ink liner and original gilded interior.


This antique silver inkwell is supported by three impressive claw style feet accented with a shell decorated socket in junction with the body.

This antique inkwell is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the internal rim of the body are all very clear.
