Set of Scottish Sterling Silver King's Pattern Basting Spoons - Antique Victorian

Set of Scottish Sterling Silver King's Pattern Basting Spoons - Antique Victorian

An exceptional, fine and impressive set of antique Victorian English sterling silver King's pattern basting spoons; an addition to our silver flatware collection

SKU A6005

These exceptional English antique silver spoons have been crafted in the Kings pattern.

The Kings pattern subtly deviates from the traditional style as it incorporates a rounded stem to the handle.

The anterior surface of each handle is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest depicting a demi griffin, in his dexter paw a sword erect.

This highly desirable graduating set of silver basting spoons bears the same heraldry and hallmark credentials, in addition to being crafted in the same style as the flatware service A2596; they would extend the service and sit very well together.

Date: 1845

These antique King's pattern spoons are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved crests are very crisp and the King's pattern is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each handle are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of Victorian silverware.
