Description


This exceptional antique shagreen container has a tapering shaped form, reflecting the naturalistic shape of a tusk.


The surface of this travelling cutlery container is embellished with impressive silver mounts to the upper and lower portions.


This impressive piece retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, ornamented with further scalloped shaped silver mounts.


The interior of the case is comprised of two large circular receivers, incorporating a navette shaped receiver to the conjoined incurve; these two large receivers are designed to accommodate a knife and fork.
