Sterling Silver Bullet Teapot - Antique George I

This exceptional antique George I sterling silver teapot has a circular plain bullet shaped form onto a circular spreading collet foot.

The surface of this impressive Georgian teapot is plain and unembellished.

The silver teapot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted by the original sterling silver spool shaped finial.

This fine silver bullet teapot is fitted with a carved ivory C shaped handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece.

The teapot has a tapering cylindrical spout ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim.

The underside of the base is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'TIE', in addition to the full hallmarks.

This antique Georgian teapot is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

There is some crazing to the ivory handle as to be expected, in keeping with age; this does not affect the integrity of the piece.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and lion passant mark to the interior of the cover, as to be expected, are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Georgian silverware.

Length from back of handle to tip of spout 20.5cm/8.1"

Diameter 10cm/3.9"

Height to top of finial 12cm/4.75"

16 troy ounces/498g
