This magnificent antique sterling silver campaign* set consists of a hip flask, sandwich box, in addition to a salt and pepper shaker.

Each component of this Victorian silver mealtime compendium has a plain rectangular form.

The surface of the hip flask and cover of the sandwich box are each embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a lion rampant above the motto 'Heb Dhlw Heb Ddim'.

This large and impressive antique silver flask is fitted with a plain circular domed hinged cover securing with a bayonet fitting; the flask bears a finely designed hinge and indicates the high quality of the piece.

The flask retains the original fully hallmarked detachable push fit drinking cup which features the original gilt interior.

The plain rectangular sandwich box bears a hinge to the upper and lower portion of the posterior side.

One end of the box is further ornamented with a functional D-shaped ring loop style handle.

The cover of the impressive sandwich box opens to reveal the original gilded interior, in addition to a compartment accommodating the salt and pepper shakers; a sandwich box with these incorporated components is extremely rare and further indicates the high quality.

Each of the hallmarked condiment shakers are embellished with pierced decorated holes in a circular formation, above the finely engineered, functional sliding mechanism.

The salt and pepper shakers are supported by a lightly sprung mechanism to the interior of the box compartment, enabling them to be subtly elevated for ease of access once the box cover opens.

The pieces of this antique silver set are fitted to the original leather carrying case with belt straps and operational stud catch.

The underside of the spirit flask and interior of the sandwich box bear the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb, London'.

This magnificent compendium is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

* Campaign sets were carried by officers whilst 'in the field' on military campaigns.

The pieces of this antique silver campaign set are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Each piece has surface patina keeping with age and use, but can be considered to be in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved crests are very crisp.

Full and part hallmarks struck to the surface of the flask and condiment shakers, in addition to the interior of the sandwich box are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.
