This service retains the original bone handled knives and carving set; each steel blade bears the retailer/maker's mark 'A Beardshaw & Co, Victoria St, Sheffield'.
This canteen of cutlery can be purchased with plain sterling silver handled knives if so desired, for further information please contact Andrew Campbell directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The egg spoons, mustard spoons and salt spoons retain the original gilded bowls; two salt spoons are ungilded.
This exceptional comprehensive sterling silver fiddle pattern service is fitted to the original and impressive oak wood three drawer canteen box.
The box is fitted with brass drawer and carrying handles in addition to a shaped vacant cartouche to the upper portion.
The cartouche bears the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented to Edward Barton Esquire, on the occasion of his leaving Dundalk, by his Numerous Friends, NovR 1907'.
* "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year.
** This crest pertains to the family name Barton; this crest can be associated with a mutitude of family names, however the presentation inscription determines this resolute identification.
