An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver castle top card case depicting Royal Windsor; an addition to our range of collectable silverware

This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver castle top card case has a rectangular rounded form.


The anterior surface of this silver case is embellished with fine and impressive embossed interlacing scrolling foliage decoration on a matt background.


The decoration incorporates an scroll bordered cartouche displaying an embossed landscape of Windsor Castle*, accented with the elucidating title 'Royal Windsor'; this scene shows the iconic Round Tower at Windsor Castle with St Georges Chapel in the background.


The reverse surface of the case is embellished with large scrolling leaf designs accented with floral ornamentation and trellis style patterns, all on a matte background.


The reverse panel incorporates a large, central scroll bordered vacant cartouche.


The rounded sides of this piece are plain and unembellished.


This antique Royal Windsor castle top card case is fitted with a hinged cover ornamented with a continuation of the aforementioned ornamentation; the anterior surface incorporates a vacant cartouche.


* Windsor Castle is the residence of the British Royal family in the English county of Berkshire. Within its time span the castle and grounds have been expanded to incorporate state quarters and other renovating facilities. The structure is a popular tourist attraction and the weekend home for Elizabeth II.
