This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver chamber candlestick (chamberstick) has a plain circular form.

The lower portion of the plain waisted capital is embellished with gadroon decoration.

This silver chamberstick retains the original push fit, hallmarked sconce and the original detachable hallmarked snuffer.

The snuffer has a conical form and is surmounted by simplified flame style finial.

The connecting peg of the snuffer is ornamented with an impressive palmette leaf design to the upper portion.

The rims of the wax pan, snuffer and sconce have further impressive gadroon decorated borders accented with subtly protruding segments.

The chamberstick is fitted with a shaped handle featuring a plain thumbpiece encompassed with gadroon decoration.

Date: 1905

This antique silver chamberstick is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the wax pan and part hallmarks to the snuffer and sleeve of the sconce are all very clear, the hallmarks to the sconce have slight wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Edwardian silverware.
