These exceptional antique George V cast sterling silver peppers are realistically modelled in the form of chicks; one stood upright and the other scratching at the floor.

Each piece has been embellished with chased decoration reproducing the details of the birds' plumage and anatomical features.

Each piece retains the original, hallmarked push fit cover/head ornamented to the upper portion with pierced 'pepper' holes.

The country of origin hallmarked the underside of each piece with the standard mark 935 and once imported into Britain the silver purity was tested and hallmarks struck reaffirming the silver is a minimum of sterling standard.

These antique chick pepperettes are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each chick's chest are all very clear.

The 935 purity hallmarks to the rim of the covers and underside of each piece are clear in keeping with age and location.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique silverware.
