This antique Victorian silver christening mug has a circular, subtly tapering rounded form onto a circular spreading foot.

The body of the mug is embellished with bright cut engraved fruiting vine decoration, incorporating a shaped vacant cartouche to the anterior face.

This Victorian silver christening mug has an applied moulded border to the rim.

This mug is fitted with a C scroll handle with a scrolling thumbpiece.

The interior edge of the handle and rim of the foot are ornamented with a bead decorated border.

This antique christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are very clear; the maker’s mark is rubbed and illegible.
