This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a circular tapering form.


The body of this silver christening mug is embellished panels of chased decoration which realistically depicts various woodland flowers and foliage, within a plain applied border.


The upper and lower rims of this antique mug are encircled with three plain bands of applied decoration.


This unusual antique Victorian silver christening mug is fitted with a plain C scroll handle with a plain collar surmounted with an unusual spherical thumbpiece to the upper portion.


The mug retains the original gilt interior.


This fine antique silver christening mug was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Robert Roskell, Alan Roskell and John Mortimer Hunt and bears the retailer's mark 'Hunt & Roskell Late Storr & Mortimer' to the underside.

This antique Victorian silver christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The chased and applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are all very clear.
