This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver cigar box has a plain rounded rectangular form.

The surface of this impressive silver cigar/cigarette box is plain and unembellished.

This example of antique silverware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged, domed solid silver cover featuring a plain incurved thumbpiece.

The upper surface of the cover is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a lion's head collared, with a battle axe fessways.

The interior of the box retains the original gilding; this box can be refitted with a bespoke velvet trinket/jewellery box fitment upon request.

NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver covers and bases.

This antique silver cigar box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The original gilding to the interior has wear in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the cover are clear in keeping with age and location; the maker's mark has wear and is illegible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Edwardian silverware.
