Description


These exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver coasters have a circular rounded form.


The surface of each coaster is embellished with a naturalistic chased decorated texture, with a plain band to the rim.


The convex domed interior of the coasters are plain and unembellished.


The subtly concave underside of each coaster is encircled with the contemporary engraved inscription 'To Roy Nash from his colleagues on IASC, June 1979'*.


These impressive vintage silver coasters were crafted by the renowned and highly collectable silversmith A G Benney in 1974**.


* Roy C. Nash, now a partner at Arthur Young & Company, is the former secretary of the I.A.S.C (International Accounting Standards Committee).


** Adrian Gerald Sallis Benney was granted a Royal Warrant in 1974 by the Queen of England, Elizabeth II as goldsmith and silversmith. He obtained further Royal Warrants in 1975 from Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. Five years later he gained another warrant from Prince of Wales, Price Charles.

These vintage silver coasters are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each coaster are all very clear.
