Description


This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver coffee jug has a plain pear shaped form to a spreading collet style foot.


The surface of this antique coffee jug is plain and embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a dove ringed above the initials 'GHK'.


This antique coffee jug is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with the original, cast sterling hallmarked silver stemmed bud shaped finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.


This Victorian coffee jug is fitted with an impressive hallmarked C shaped handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece and terminals.


The jug features an exceptional cast and applied truncated spout modelled in the form of a large scrolling leaf accented with an opposing scroll decorated lip.


This exceptional example of Victorian teaware was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard.

This Victorian coffee jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The interior of the coffee jug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the coffee jug, in addition to the part hallmarks to the interior of the cover, handle and finial are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
