Sterling Silver Coffee Jug with Spirit Burner by Paul Storr - Antique George III (1803)


This exceptional antique George III English sterling silver coffee jug has a plain circular waisted shaped form.

The cylindrical lower portion of the body is embellished with an applied gadroon decorated border.

The surface of the waisted body is plain and encircled with an applied moulded girdle, in addition to a moulded border to the rim and encompassing the elevated spout.

This exceptional Paul Storr coffee jug is fitted with the original hallmarked hinged domed cover, surmounted with the original cast sterling silver acorn and foliate finial.

This exceptional antique coffee jug is fitted with a plain carved stained wood scrolling handle, with a spiralling lower socket.

The jug detaches from the original hallmarked sterling silver stand, supported by three impressive cast legs, each featuring ring loop handles to the upper portion and terminating with a paw style foot.

The upper portion of the stand is encircled with an applied egg decorated border.

The stand incorporates a trefoil shaped base accented with ribbed decorated bracket style feet.

The base retains the original screw fitted, detachable spirit burner ornamented with an applied interlacing border and encircled with a shaped egg decorated border to the rim of the base, reflecting the design to the of that stand.

This exceptional example of antique teaware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Paul Storr.

This collectable Paul Storr silver coffee jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The interior of the coffee jug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the stand, cover of the spirit burner and interior of the kettle cover are all very clear; the hallmarks to the kettle and stand are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver .

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this collectable Paul Storr silver coffee jug.
