Description

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver coffee pot has a plain classical rounded form onto a circular pedestal foot.

The surface of this Georgian silver coffee pot is encircled with an applied girdle and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a demi savage holding in the dexter hand and arrow, point downwards.

This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover encircled with a wrigglework scalloped border accented with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration to the rim.

The cover is surmounted with an impressive cast sterling silver bead decorated urn shaped finial.

The coffee pot retains the original C shaped carved pear wood handle with cast sterling silver sockets.

This antique coffee pot has a plain cast silver swan necked spout.

The underside of the circular domed foot is embellished with the later engraved inscription 'Elisabeth Dornan Phillippe, June 19, 1925'.

This antique Georgian silver coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are natural surface blemishes in keeping with age, however the piece can still be considered to be in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
