Sterling Silver Coffee Pot by Henry Holland - Antique Victorian (1873)

£1,895.00

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot by Henry Holland; an addition to our silver teaware collection

SKU W8821

This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver coffee pot has a tapering oval form in the old oil can style.

The body of this coffee pot is encircled with fine and impressive bright cut engraved floral festoons suspended from scrolling quatrefoil motifs in addition to subtle pin struck ribbon bows and pensile undulating swags.

The upper and lower portions of the body are embellished with a band of interwoven decoration and an interlacing swag border accented with alternating organic lobed ornamentation to each terminal.

This fine example of Victorian silverware is encircled with a bead decorated border to the upper and lower rims.

The coffee pot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover embellished with bands of interlacing decoration identical to those on the body; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.

The centre of the cover is surmounted with the original oval domed carved and silver topped finial, secured to the interior with a wing nut.

The coffee pot retains the original carved C scroll handle with a scrolling thumbpiece and cylindrical sterling silver sockets.

This impressive coffee pot is fitted with a tapering spout embellished with bright cut engraved stylised husk and hexafoil motifs to either side.
