Description

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver coffee pot has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular pedestal foot.

The surface of this Georgian coffee pot is plain and unembellished.

This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover encircled with a bead decorated border to the rim and surmounted with an impressive cast sterling silver bead decorated urn shaped finial.

The coffee pot retains the original carved pear wood handle with cast sterling silver terminals, in addition to an exceptional leaf decorated socket in junction with the body.

This antique coffee pot has a cast silver swan necked spout ornamented with graduating bands of bead decoration and accented with a scrolling protrusion and a moulded design to the lip.

The circular domed foot is encircled with a further applied bead decorated border to the rim.

The impressive coffee pot was crafted by the renowned female Georgian silversmith Hester Bateman and is a delicate yet fine piece, with pleasing size proportions; large items of silverware made by this maker are difficult to locate.
