An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver combination chamber candlestick and cigar cutter; an addition to our Victorian silver candlestick/candelabra collection

This fine antique Victorian sterling silver chamberstick/candle holder has a plain square rounded form.


The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border.


The plain cylindrical capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce, accented with a plain applied elevated border.


The plain cylindrical column is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a heart surmounted with a coronet, all above the motto/proprietary name 'Cœur de Roy'.


The impressive and rare example of Victorian silverware incorporates a cylindrical cigar cutter; this operates with a sprung, push fit catch to the upper portion.


The chamberstick is supported by four plain bun style feet.


This exceptional candle holder was crafted by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd.

This antique silver chamberstick/candle holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.

The bright cut engraved crest is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside, in addition to part hallmarks to the sleeve of the scone and screw fitments to the underside are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian silverware.
