Description


This fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver chalice has a circular rounded form onto a circular knopped pedestal and swept foot.


The surface of this ecclesiastical chalice has a planished finish, in the Arts and Crafts style.


The impressive knop is encircled with fine applied and chased lobed decoration to the upper and lower portions with a band of spindle and bead ornamentation to the centre.


The surface of the swept circular foot is ornamented with an engraved cross fleury/patonce style motif.


The collet style rim of this sterling silver chalice is embellished with further applied and chased decorated spindle and bead ornamentation amidst two bands of rope twist decoration.

Condition


This vintage sterling silver chalice is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased and applied decoration is very sharp and the engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the chalice are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
