This exceptional antique Victorian English sterling silver vesta case has a plain rectangular rounded form.

The surface of this impressive antique vesta case is plain and retains the original compass to the centre of the anterior side.

The compass is embellished with cardinal and intermediate marks forming a sixteen point compass rose.

The reverse of this fine vesta case is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'B.H.S.S'.

This piece is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover with a plain thumbpiece to the side.

There is an integrated serrated panel/match striker to the underside.

This silver vesta case has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The compass is in perfect working condition in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim of body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.
