Description

This magnificent antique George V sterling silver twelve piece condiment set consists of four salts, four pepper pots and four mustard pots.

The pieces of this fine boxed condiment set have a panelled oval form; each pepper pot surmounts a pedestal foot and the salts are each supported by four bracket style legs.

The surface of each piece is embellished with panels of bright cut engraved decoration trellis patterns encompassed with scroll decorated borders.

Either side of each piece incorporates a scroll bordered cartouche, one displays a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a Talbot holding in the mouth a snake; the other cartouche remains vacant.

The upper rim of each piece is encompassed with applied moulded borders.

The mustard pots are fitted with angular shaped handles with applied pendant drop style thumbpieces.

Each mustard pot has a hinged hallmarked domed cover embellished with bright cut engraved bordered panels.

The pepper pots are fitted with push fit hallmarked covers with pierced scrolling ‘pepper’ holes.

The covers to each of the mustard pots and pepper pots are surmounted by a sterling silver Adams style urn finial.
