This exceptional antique George IV sterling silver cream jug has a circular rounded compressed form.

The body is embellished with fine chased stylised floral, scroll and leaf decoration incorporating a bordered vacant shaped cartouche to one side.

The rim of the jug is ornamented with a shaped applied floral and leaf decorated border.

The jug is further embellished with a fine and impressive stemmed rose design to the underside of the spout in addition to a shell motif beneath the pouring lip.

This exceptional example of antique teaware is fitted with a fine and impressive opposing scroll handle ornamented with acanthus leaf decorated thumbpiece and embellished with floral motifs to the centre and upper terminal.

This fine cream jug is supported on four volute scroll style feet with very impressive chased decorated leaf and rosette style sockets, further embellished with a plain chased decorated border at the junction with the body of the jug.

This antique cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased and applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the jug are very clear; the maker’s mark has been struck to the decoration and is illegible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique silverware.
