Description


This exceptional antique George II sterling silver cream jug has a waisted pear shaped form with a flared rim.


The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with exceptional flat chased simplified floral and leaf designs incorporating simplified scrolling panels, in the Rococo style.


The waisted upper portion of the Paul de Lamerie cream jug has a plain shaped flared rim incorporating a spout.


This impressive example of Georgian teaware is fitted with a shaped scrolling handle with an opposing scroll lower terminal.


The jug is supported by three impressive cast and applied hoof style feet with plain tri-lobed sockets in junction with the body.


This impressive antique silver cream jug was crafted by the most revered and important London silversmith Paul de Lamerie.


Cream jugs of this style and by this maker are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

Condition


This antique silver cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The flat chased decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the jug have wear in keeping with age, but remain legible.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this exceptional Paul de Lamerie cream jug.
