Sterling Silver Cream and Sugar Set - Antique Edward VIII (1936)

This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver cream and sugar compendium consists of a cream jug and sugar bowl on a matching stand.

The cream jug and sugar bowl have a circular rounded form onto a circular tapering foot.

The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished, with an applied moulded border to the rim.

The cream jug is fitted with an impressive sterling silver angular handle.

This Victorian silver cream and sugar set is fitted to the original hallmarked stand.

The stand features the original hallmarked sterling silver frame incorporating two circular receivers enabling the teaware pieces to stand securely in situ; this frame secures to the underside of the stand with screw fitments.

The original antique stand features a central carrying handle ornamented with a ball motif and circular loop handpiece.

The compendium stand is supported by four impressive bracket style feet accented with broad ribbed ornamentation.

Cream and sugar sets with a matching solid silver stand are unusual and difficult to locate; typical stands would have be produced in electroplated silver.
