An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver double cover biscuit box / tea caddy; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver biscuit box / tea caddy has a rounded rectangular form onto four cast bun style feet.

The surface of this caddy is plain and embellished to the lower portion with fluted decoration.

The upper rim of the caddy is encompassed with an applied gadroon decorated border

This antique silver biscuit box is fitted with two opposing hallmarked flush hinged covers; the flush hinges indicates the fine quality of this piece.

Each cover retains the original cast and applied swept tri-lobed thumbpieces.

The caddy has an impressive handle ornamented with further applied gadroon decoration, accented with bifurcating terminals to either side.

The underside of this exceptional example of antique silverware bears the retailer's mark 'Watherston, London'.

Double covered caddies are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This antique silver biscuit box / tea caddy is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The cast and applied decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible.

The part hallmarks to the interior of each cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Edwardian silverware.
