Description


This impressive antique William IV sterling silver entrée dish has a hexafoil shaped form.


The body of this impressive entrée dish is plain and ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the shaped rim.


The cover of this antique silver dish retains the original hallmarked reed decorated detachable handle, accented with scrolling leaf decorated terminals and a hexafoil shaped plateau.


The hexafoil shaped plateau of the handle is encompassed with further applied moulded decoration, reflecting the shape of the body and cover.


This exceptional entrée dish, crafted by the very collectable and renowned London silversmith Paul Storr, bears the retailer's mark 'Storr & Mortimer' to the underside.

Condition


This antique collectable dish is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some surface knife scratches to the well of the dish, in keeping with the age and purpose.

The applied ornamentation is very sharp.

Full hallmarks to the exterior of the base, and interior of the cover, in addition to the part hallmarks to the handle are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Paul Storr silverware.
