An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver epergne with hanging baskets; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver centrepiece/epergne has tapering form to a circular domed spreading foot.

The main flute is embellished with impressive applied and pierced decorated organic motifs to the shaped rim.

This antique silver epergne is fitted with two scrolling sterling silver arms, each terminating with a hook.

Each of the two original hallmarked baskets has a circular rounded shaped form onto a spreading foot, and is fitted with an opposing scrolling handle.

The baskets are embellished with identical bands of ornamentation to that of the central flute.

The underside of the weighted base is fitted with a green baize lining.

This antique silver epergne is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The centrepiece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The applied and pierced decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks to the surface of the base and rim of each basket are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
