Description


This exceptional George III sterling silver ladle has been crafted in the Fiddle and Thread pattern.


The surface of the handle is embellished with a paralleling thread decorated border, incorporated into the rounded heel and pip to the terminal.


The anterior surface of the handle terminal is ornamented with two contemporary bright cut engraved crests depicting a griffin with wings elevated and a horse's head out of a coronet.


This fine example of Georgian flatware has a plain rounded bowl.


This exceptional antique silver soup ladle was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Paul Storr.

Condition


This antique Paul Storr silver ladle is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some surface blemishes in keeping with age and type, however the ladle can be considered to be in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the handle are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian dining silverware.
