Sterling Silver Fish Vinaigrette - Antique Georgian (1817)

Description

This exceptional antique sterling silver vinaigrette has been realistically modelled in the form of a fish.

This impressive silver fish vinaigrette has an articulated body, allowing the fish's position to be customised.

The body of this antique silver vinaigrette is embellished with a separate dorsal fin, in addition to rows of engraved scales.

The forked caudal/tail fin is further ornamented with engraved and pin-struck details replicating the fish's natural features.

The head of the fish is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover, which when opened reveals the vinaigrette with the original hinged grille and gilt interior.

Such original Georgian examples are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire.

This antique silver fish vinaigrette is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
