Silver Fish Vinaigrette

Sterling Silver Fish Vinaigrette - Antique Georgian (1817)

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique English sterling silver vinaigrette realistically modelled in the form of a fish; an addition to our animal related silverware collection

SKU C4217

This exceptional antique sterling silver vinaigrette has been realistically modelled in the form of a fish.

This impressive silver fish vinaigrette has an articulated body, allowing the fish's position to be customised.

The body of this antique silver vinaigrette is embellished with a separate dorsal fin, in addition to rows of engraved scales.

The forked caudal/tail fin is further ornamented with engraved and pin-struck details replicating the fish's natural features.

The head of the fish is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover, which when opened reveals the vinaigrette with the original hinged grille and gilt interior.

Such original Georgian examples are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire.
