The pieces of this exceptional antique sterling silver four piece tea service consists of a spirit tea kettle, teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.

Each piece has a circular compressed form on to a circular spreading foot.

The surface of each piece is plain and embellished with an applied band of tied reed decoration accented with fruiting leaf motifs.

The rim of each piece of this silver tea set is embellished with an applied gadroon decoration.

The teapot and kettle are both fitted with hinged hallmarked, subtly domed covers each surmounted by the original pear wood and silver finials.

The spirit tea kettle is fitted with an impressive bifurcating chased snake decorated handle with a central shaped pear wood handpiece.

The handle terminals are ornamented with snake head decoration.

The teapot is fitted with a carved C shaped pear wood handle with noteworthy snake head decorated silver terminals.

The teapot and kettle are both fitted with a trunkated spout.

The cream jug and sugar bowl are also fitted with noteworthy chased looping snake decorated sterling silver handles.

The tea kettle is supported on a circular three legged stand which retains the original detachable spirit burner.

The bifurcating shaped legs are ornamented with acanthus leaf decoration and impressive scrolling, shell decorated feet.

The stand also retains the original hallmarked pegs and link chains.

Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The applied and chased decoration to each piece is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and interior of the covers are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.
