This exceptional antique George IV sterling silver basket has a shaped circular form onto a circular domed foot.

The body of this impressive antique fruit basket is embellished with embossed and pierced fruiting vine ornamentation incorporating grape clusters and tendrils.

The centre of the well is ornamented with an impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a heart with two wings surmounting a decorated helm and mantling, all encompassed with the inscription 'In rememberance of past kindness never to be forgotten'.

The scalloped, shaped rim of this antique sterling silver fruit basket is encompassed with embossed floral and scrolling leaf designs.

This George IV basket retains the original sterling silver rope twist decorated swing handle.

The circular foot is encircled with impressive chased leaf ornamentation to a collet style rim, all incorporating a matte background.

This antique sterling silver fruit basket is a very good gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality for its type and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased and embossed decoration is exceptionally sharp and the heraldic markings are very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the basket are all very clear.
