This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver desk standish has a rectangular shaped form.

This inkstand is fitted with an impressive, deep gallery embellished with pierced scrolling foliate and floral ornamentation.

The surface of the stand incorporates two oval recesses, composing pen wells.

The rim of the body of the sterling silver inkstand is ornamented with a paralleling applied moulded decorated border.

This antique hallmarked silver inkstand is supported by four impressive cast bracket style feet embellished with scrolling leaf decoration.

The stand has integrated, pierced decorated cylindrical receivers to accommodate the two inkpots in addition to a central hallmarked receptacle.

The plain cylindrical central receptacle is surmounted with the original hallmarked sterling silver chamber candlestick.

The candlestick has a shaped circular form with a sunken well surmounted with a plain baluster capital.

The shaped rim of the chamberstick is encircled with an impressive applied scrolling border.

The chamberstick is fitted with conical snuffer, conjoined to the leaf decorated fingerpiece with the original chain.

The two original circular fluted glass ink pots retain the original plain hallmarked sterling silver collars.

Each ink pot is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit circular shaped cover embellished with a border reflecting that of the candlestick.

This antique inkstand is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The cast and pierced decoration is all very sharp

The ink bottles are in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the inkstand, glass bottle mounts and candlestick, in addition to the part hallmarks to the covers and snuffer, are all very clear .

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique glass and silverware.
