Description

This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver gentleman’s smoking compendium has a rectangular spreading form onto four stepped feet, all in the Art Deco style.

The surface of the smoking compendium is embellished with impressive engine turned decoration.

Either side of the compendium is fitted with a large hallmarked hinged cover which allows access to the inset cedar wood lined and gilded cigar boxes.

The centre of the compendium features the original detachable hallmarked cigar/cheroot cutter and a match receiver.

The cigar cutter is fitted with a hinged spring cutting mechanism; operational when the upper portion is depressed.

The sterling silver match receiver retains the original hallmarked hinged cover and bears a match striker to the anterior surface.

This impressive vintage set is fitted with two fine and impressive octagonal handles with stepped terminals and shaped swept brackets, all in the iconic Art Deco style.

The underside of this smoking set bears the retailer’s mark 'Garrard & Co Ltd, 112 Regent St.W'.

This compendium is an exceptional gentleman's desk centrepiece.
