Description

These fine antique Edwardian sterling silver gilt serving spoons have shaped rounded bowls.

Each exceptional spoon handle has been realistically modelled in the form of a snake; this handle style reflects the design of whip pattern flatware.

The handles are embellished with fine and impressive cast and chased decoration reproducing the scales and details of the snake’s natural features.

The surface of these silver spoons retain the original gilding.

These antique sterling silver serving spoons are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.

The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Jewellers, Lister & Sons, 32&34 Northumberland St, Newcastle on Tyne'.

These impressive serving spoons were crafted by the London silversmiths Thomas Alfred Slater, Walter Brindsley Slater & Henry Arthur Holland of Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater.
