This exceptional antique George IV sterling silver gilt snuff box has a rectangular waisted form.

The surface of this antique silver box is embellished with exceptional chased decoration depicting hunting hounds chasing a fox in an rural setting.

The anterior surface of the snuff box is further ornamented with a large, chased simplified fox head design.

This impressive 1800s silver box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with further chased scenes, incorporating an applied double layered vacant cartouche to the centre.

The rim of the cover and each edge of the body are embellished with cast and applied scrolling leaf decorated borders.

The interior and exterior surfaces of this exceptional box retains the original gilding.

This magnificent example of antique silverware is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

This antique 1800s silver box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition; the ornamentation and condition of the piece is as sharp as the day it was made.

Full deeply struck hallmarks struck to the interior of the snuff box and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
