The body of this antique silver goblet is encompassed with an exceptional and collectable chased decorated cricket scene, comprised of a gentleman propelling the ball towards the wicket defended by a batsman, all in a rural style background.

The decoration to the body incorporates a scrolling leaf bordered shaped cartouche displaying the later engraved inscription 'Vulcan Institute Cricket Club, The Lermit Challenge Cup for Inter-Shop Competition, 1950'.

The lower bulbous portion of this Victorian goblet is embellished with further scrolling, floral and extended terrain ornamentation.

The plain cylindrical pedestal features a circular fluted knop to the upper portion.

The foot is ornamented with further chased floral, foliate and opposing scroll decoration, with an incurved collet style rim.
