Description


This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot.


The body of this antique silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved floral and thistle arrays, alternating with impressive ivy leaf bordered vacant oval cartouches.


The rim of the goblet is encompassed with a bright cut engraved foliate festoon arrangement.


The plain waisted pedestal features a bead decorated circular knop to the upper portion and centre.


The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved ivy leaf decoration, with a bead decorated border to the rim.


This exceptional silver goblet retains the original gilded interior.


This exceptional antique silver goblet is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, secured with a push fit catch.


This impressive example of Victorian silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith George Adams of Chawner & Co.

Condition


This antique silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

There is some slight shrinkage to the presentation box, however the catch remains operational and the box secures closed.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
