Description


This fine pair of antique Victorian sterling silver grape shears has a hinged scissor action.


The anterior surface of the shears is ornamented with bright cut engraved simplified floral and leaf decoration incorporating a vacant shaped cartouche above the finger grasp of each handle.


The hinge of these antique shears is encircled with further bright cut engraved leaf decoration.


The reverse surface of this fine example of Victorian silverware is plain and unembellished.


These impressive sterling silver grape shears are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior and secures with a push fit catch.


Date: 1888

Condition


These antique grape shears are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the handles are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
