Description


This exceptional antique George V sterling silver jewellery box has a plain rectangular form.


The surface of this antique silver jewellery box is plain and unembellished, accented with an inset panel to each side.


The impressive hallmarked domed hinged solid silver cover retains the original gilded interior.


The large body of this exceptional, plain jewellery box is lined with cedar wood and compartmentalised with a bespoke navy blue velvet fitment, with a well incorporating a lift out compartment and bordered by an integrated ring holder to one side.


This impressive example of antique silverware is supported by four impressive applied bracket style feet


This antique box has a weighted base and retains the original leatherette to the underside.


NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver cover.

The box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box and part hallmarks to the cover have wear in keeping with age and location.
