This large antique George III sterling silver meat skewer/letter opener* has a tapered form.


The surface of this Paul Storr silver skewer is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a mullet pierced


Either side of the skewer is further ornamented with a double layered shell design below a thread decorated circular ring loop finger piece.


This fine example of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr.


* The original use of this item was purely as a meat skewer. Due to its form, this piece may certainly be used as an effective letter opener.

This antique Paul Storr silver skewer is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse surface are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
