This impressive antique Georgian sterling silver toy* tazza has a plain circular form onto a cylindrical pedestal foot.
The surface of the tazza is plain and unembellished apart from the silversmiths centre punch mark, in addition to the maker's mark 'DC'** and lion passant.
The rim of this antique tazza is encompassed with an embossed border.
* The word toy encompasses a variety of pieces reflecting the same proportions and design features as the original examples. Originally such pieces were either collected by adults, or played with by children as genuine toys.
**David Clayton was a London silversmith renowned for producing miniatures and toys. Examples of his work may be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
