This exceptional antique Victorian cast sterling silver table lighter has been realistically modelled in the form of a mushroom/gilled fungi.

The surface of the knopped stalk (stipe) is embellished with details reproducing the natural features of the tissue texture.

The hallmarked rounded circular cap (pileus) of the mushroom is plain and unembellished, accented with a ribbed texture replicating the lamella/gills.

This impressive novelty silver table lighter retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover ornamented with a floral pattern; once removed this allows access to the wick.
