Description


This exceptional antique George III sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form.


The surface of this Peter and Ann Bateman silver mustard pot is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'JES' .


The upper and lower rims of this fine example of Georgian silverware are ornamented with an impressive applied bead decorated border.


This mustard pot is fitted with a plain hallmarked ornately domed hinged cover surmounted with a plain ball style finial in addition to a lobed thumbpiece in junction with the hinge.


This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an S scroll handle.


The mustard pot is fitted with a removable blue glass liner.


This exceptional mustard pot was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmiths Peter and Ann Bateman.

Condition


This antique mustard pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.

The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mustard pot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Peter and Ann Bateman silver.
