Description


This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver inkwell has been realistically modelled in the form of a pen's pointed nib.


The shank/body of this impressive Victorian inkwell is plain and embellished with engraved and pierced decoration replicating the details of the nib's slit and vent/breather hole, in addition to plain shaped shoulders.


This antique inkwell retains the original removable glass ink pot.


The underside of the silver nib bears the registration number 'Rd No 228648' in addition to the full hallmarks.


This impressive inkwell was crafted by the Birmingham silversmiths John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd.

This antique Victorian inkwell is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The silver nib has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
