This exceptional antique George V sterling silver photo frame has a rectangular form with domed upper portion and a plain rectangular internal window.

The surface of this antique silver photo frame is embellished with impressive engine turned decoration.

This photograph frame is fitted with the original Bakelite back and hinged strut, secured with a four innovative catches; the back of the frame bears the mark 'B.M.C. Patented Silverware'*.

This impressive example of antique silverware is inset with a removable glass panel.

* The British Metallising Company Ltd (B.M.C) registered with London Assay Office and are noted as exhibitors at the British Industries Fair of 1929. The company went into voluntary liquidation in 1934.

This sterling silver photo frame is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There is a minor blemish to the lower border of the frame; this does not detract from the aesthetically pleasing appearance of the piece.

The engine turned decoration is all very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the frame are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
