Description


This exceptional antique George III sterling silver pint and a half tankard has a plain cylindrical tapering form onto a spreading circular foot.


The plain body of this Georgian tankard is embellished with an impressive bright cut engraved coat of arms party per fess, in chief a lion passant above a crescent in addition to the crests depicting a bear and a beaver.


This helm and coat of arms surmounts the bright cut engraved motto 'Finem Res Pice' - Consider the end.


The lower portion of this antique tankard is plain and encircled with a plain applied girdle in addition to bands of tooled decoration.


This magnificent Georgian tankard retains the original hinged hallmarked domed cover surmounted with a fine and impressive scrolling lobed thumbpiece and encircled with tooled ornamentation.


The hinge is decorated with pendant drop style ornamentation to the upper portion of the handle.


This antique tankard is fitted with an S scroll handle ornamented with a heart shaped terminal.


The circular spreading foot is encircled with further tooled decoration.

Condition


This antique tankard is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are natural fire marks as to be expected in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tankard and interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
