The raised shaped border is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms, incorporating the motto 'Tam virtus quam honos' - As well virtue as honour*.
The rim of this impressive example of antique silverware is encompassed with an applied tied gadroon decorated border accented with alternating leaf designs to each incurve.
This exceptional serving platter was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Paul Storr.
*The motto, in conjunction with the three cinquefoils and swords palewise displayed on the coat of arms, pertains to the Hamilton family.
